A MEDITATION:

1 Corinthians 13
King James Version

(fyi: It is commonly understood that charity in this translation is love, which is also why this chapter from Corinthians is often cited during wedding ceremonies.)

13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.

3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Logan is an absolute pleasure to work with. She was incredibly responsive and made herself available whenever I needed, which allowed me to dive into my new career strategy without delay. Through our conversations, she helped me clarify my goals, giving me the confidence to move forward with them. I’m grateful for this professional partnership!” – from an award-winning media professional and podcast producer, reviewing our career consultations.

“Now about the author herself. Full disclosure, I’ve had the honor and privilege of working with her at a news network in Manhattan. In a business full of phonies, egos and bozos. Logan is the genuine article (see what I did there?) we worked on a special project together and had tons of fun doing it! She’s professional, smart, fun, and makes everyone around her better both as an employee and as a person…” – excerpted from a reader, friend and colleague, re: that year of miracles.

“Authentic, honest & insightful. A truly moving journey through grief that’s given me hope. This really helped.” – from a reader of that year of miracles.

“5.0 out of 5 stars. It’s beautiful.
What a moving tale! Also love how the story and illustrations together convey a level of beauty & innocence that took me back to simpler times. I enjoyed going with the little blue angel on her journey of faith. – from a reviewer of the little blue angel.

“A deeply personal testimony that pulled me in for the journey — of pain, promise & healing — that left me with the courage to believe I can get through this too. I’m so grateful for this book. Thank you.– from a reviewer of God Heals —how the love of God exited me from the trauma narrative— to live in His spirit of power, love and a sound mind— and how you can count on Him to heal you too.

Hi guys!

For 20+ years, I covered breaking news, politics, culture for best-in-class TV, radio and online outlets. Today, I helm find create joy, a company that now also includes: find create joy | books; The Journal (our quarterly magazine; first issue — January 2025), and of course, the original project: find create joy art gallery. I am the author of God Heals —how the love of God exited me from the trauma narrative— to live in His spirit of power, love and a sound mind— and how you can count on Him to heal you too. (find create joy | books, pub. August 2025); and that year of miracles: from mourning to dancing: how the transformative power of God’s grace can make even a year of mourning— that year of miracles (find create joy | books, pub. Dec. 2024); and the publisher, editor and illustrator of the little blue angel, by Janet Potter (also, by fcj books).

The story of our company:

Initially, find create joy (fcj) was created as an online art gallery (because I’m an artist). And before that, I was also a journalist, and worked in a lot of places:

And even “won” an Emmy, with colleagues covering 9/11.

Yet despite these accolades, and over more than two decades, I saw the voices lost inside of the media (including my own, sometimes!) and also the importance of learning how to communicate effectively in this climate, and how to find a way to be heard.

Who find create joy can help:

find create joy works to help individuals and small businesses find their voice(s), and to better understand how the media works, and how to make the media itself better, because I’ve been there, inside of it.

This company also has a unique point of view:

Even our take on the “lightest” of topics, like style make-overs, is more substantial, and effective: because it’s real.

Big picture:

about our style services:

  • a grasp of how to take yourself seriously (but not too seriously.)
  • an understanding of why something looks good on you, and how to replicate that.
  • a means to get organized, and let go, and much more.

Why?

Well, because this was me:

Our company’s focus is integrating multimedia know-how with insights gained as an executive across a variety of educational, faith-led, and creative organizations to help you put your best forward.

bona fides:

My career interweaves educational, movement and leadership development expertise with multimedia journalism, art and style insights. As a producer, journalist, author, editor and essayist, I have coached many household names in both secular and religious spaces, drawing on more than 20 years of best-in-class experience in mainstream media (MSM) broadcast and independent news outlets. I count an Emmy among professional accolades (9/11 coverage for our team at ABC’s World News Tonight) as well as writings highlighted by The Huffington Post’s first ever how-to blogging guide (and where I was a featured writer for a decade).

about my style knowledge:

My relationship with style is indirect, but persistent: as a broadcast news television and radio producer, I became keenly aware of how people impact their message by their voice, tone, appearance, soft skills, attention/presence, intelligence, preparation, authenticity… As an artist, I am acutely aware of aesthetics: what is beautiful, and what is peaceful, and even how to find beauty in that which is deemed ‘ugly.’ But most importantly, as a Christian, I look beyond the surface: to the heart, and to what is true:

7 But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

1 Samuel 16
